Spring (March-May)

In spring, DAS EDELWEISS transforms into an exclusive couple resort while also serving as the ideal destination for families planning a holiday with a baby or toddler. Spring is considered the best time to visit Austria to enjoy wellness, health, and nature experiences in a peaceful atmosphere, experience springtime Ski in & Ski Out with mild temperatures, and, from May onwards, embark on Austria’s prime hiking season. Discover the Valley of Alpine huts at its most beautiful and enjoy culinary hikes to one of the 40 alpine huts in the Großarltal, with its varied, gentle trails perfectly suited for hiking with a stroller.
During this season, health and regeneration are especially emphasized: yoga, reformer, and Pilates sessions in our EDELWEISS Mountain Studio are complemented by soothing beauty treatments and massages at the EDELWEISS Beauty Mountain Spa. Our adults-only wellness areas offer couples the perfect retreat, while our Baby Mountain Spa is specifically designed to meet the needs of babies and toddlers. Children are also lovingly cared for from 0 years old in the EDELWEISS Prinzenland.

Summer (June-August)

A special highlight in summer is our guided hikes and e-bike tours with family member Daniel Hettegger. A true insider tip is a sunrise hike followed by a traditional “Brettljause”, where nature, culinary delights, and quality time come together consciously.
For children and teenagers, DAS EDELWEISS provides a variety of free spaces. A slide park over three floors, supervised programs such as the EDELWEISS football tournament, and four age-appropriate children’s and youth areas allow for both retreat and social interaction. At the same time, parents have access to spacious wellness areas with peaceful adults-only zones. This ensures that family holidays at DAS EDELWEISS remain balanced and relaxing.

Autumn (September-November)

For those who prefer to travel outside of school holidays and value peace, space, and slowing down, autumn at DAS EDELWEISS offers ideal conditions. These months are considered by many guests to be the best time to visit Austria and also Austria’s prime hiking season, providing the perfect opportunity to experience the alpine surroundings of the Großarltal in a relaxed atmosphere. Mild weather, clear views, and lightly trafficked trails make this season especially suitable for walks with a stroller.
Culinary experiences in autumn focus on regional and seasonal products, which can be enjoyed both at the 40 managed alpine huts in the Großarltal and within the resort itself. Theme weeks, such as our EDELWeisse & Rote Genusstage, are highlights for food and gastronomy enthusiasts.
For couples, autumn offers special moments of relaxation. Adults-only areas, spacious quiet zones, and culinary experiences at the in-house sushi bar or two toques awarded steak restraurant Sirloin | Grill & Dine provide the perfect setting. Our Ski In & Ski Out resort, with ski rental and storage, offers a convenient start to the ski day. Ski pass service at the reception and ski lessons starting directly from the hotel ensure a relaxed ski holiday for all generations. After active hours in the snow, the four age-appropriate areas of the EDELWEISS Kinderwelt and our 75,000 sq. ft. EDELWEISS Mountain Spa provide balance and shared relaxation—making it a central winter holiday destination for families with children in Austria.
From early to mid-December, as well as outside the holiday periods, winter reveals its quieter side, catering specifically to adults without school-age children. During this time, winter at DAS EDELWEISS is the ideal travel period for those who want to choose between active time in the snow and high-quality relaxation.
