Loosbühelalm

The Loosbühelalm (“Klausalm”) is a great insider tip for fans of goat milk and goat cheese

The Loosbühelalm lies at 1,769 m, right next to the Salzburger Almenweg. In around 1 ¼ h, you can hike to the Loosbühelalm either via a hiking path or the forestry lane. Mountain bikers are also welcome guests. If you prefer, you can drive your own car up to the hut instead.

The Loosbühelalm (“Klausalm”) is also a great insider tip for fans of goat milk and goat cheese. The Klausbauer is an official cheese producer for the “Grossarltal Hill Cheese” culinary region. Aside from goat cheese, they also make a selection of sweet cheeses as well as the sour cheese for which Grossarltal is so famous. The farmers here likewise produce bacon, sausage, bread, butter and schnapps. The meals offered at the Loosbühelalm exclusively feature homemade ingredients. In addition to the classic Brettljause snack platter, the Loosbühelalm serves a number of hot dishes and a selection of pastry desserts.

Children are greeted by a big playground and animals to pet. As many as 40 people are also able to spend the night at the Loosbühelalm.

The Loosbühelalm opens in winter. Winter hiking, sledding, snowshoeing and ski touring are possible in this area.
