Pure Nature in the Hohe Tauern National Park
The location, the difference in elevation and the overall naturalness ensure variety in the flora and the fauna of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The animals of the Alps, those that you would otherwise see very rarely, are quite at home in the national park: groundhogs, chamois and the rare alpine Ibex can be seen with a little luck on a hike through the park. An especially rare animal, but one that can be found in the Hohe Tauern National Park, is the griffon vulture. The national park is a highly recommended excursion destination, even for families.
