Salzburgerland is a combination of mountains and lakes, rivers and forests, folkloric villages and picturesque cities. The mountain range of the Central Alps runs through the south, including the impressive 3000er, the Hohen Tauern mountain. In the east and north, the borders stretch across the Dachstein mountain and the Berchtesgadner Alps. If you look more closely, you will see that the Federal state Salzburg is divided into 5 different regions: Pongau, Pinzgau, Lungau, Tennengau and Flachgau. The Großarl Valley lies in the idyllic region of Pongau.
